It is very rare as a set with Part II, also at the Cushing, and commonly regarded as the first edition of the complete Don Quixote in two parts. Only complete set in WorldCat. There are copies "a costa de I. Simon" and "a costa de R. Vives." Ex libris of Joaquim Monzo i Lasala. Bound in modern vellum. A gift of Sara and John Lindsey.

It is a partial copy of the title page in Paris: Jacques du Clou and Denis Moreau, 1618, the first well-defined known textual illustration of Don Quixote in an edition. Small loss to lower right corner. In Cushing's copy, the second part has a separate title page with the publisher's emblem.
Description: First edition of first English translation of both parts; second edition of the first part (1612?), and first edition of the second part (1620). It is printed by William Stansby for Edward Blount, one of the two publishers of the Shakespeare First Folio (1623). Cushing´s copy is bound in contemporary if not original 17th century red morocco.

Río y Rico refers to two illustrations ("Don Quixote knighted" and "Doña Rodríguez' night adventure") as if they appeared in this edition, but they don't.
