Commentary | Don Quixote and Sancho encounter three peasant girls on donkeys and Sancho introduces one of them to don Quixote as the enchanted Dulcinea.
Don Quixote, knelt, tries to kiss Dulcinea's foot; she lifts her riding whip to hit him. Drawing and engraving are acceptable, but with some light faults. |
Notes | 1 - Simplified copy after Coypel's illustration (Paris: Surugue, c. 1728-30).
2 - Signed as "R. 1825". 3 - Placed as frontispiece. |
