| Commentary | Don Quixote welcome by the shepherds and shepherdesses of the pretended Arcadia to their tent; "Acudieron á las tiendas, hallaron las mesas puestas, ricas, abundantes y limpias; honraron a D. Quijote dándole el primer lugar en ellos" (58:2).
Figures resolved with notable elegance; idealized scene in keeping with Art Nouveau style. Notice the use of black stains (hair and beard of a pair of shepherds) to create remarkable plastic effects. Excellent drawing. |
