| Commentary | Copy from Bouttats' composition (Amberes: Verdussen, 1672 - 1673). In the foreground, the humorous action: don Quixote orders Sancho to leave the "Dueñas" pinch him. In the background, more theatrical and dramatic, Altisidora lying over a catafalque, a boy playing the harp, the Duque, the Duchess, Minos and Radamanto.
The engraving is better in foreground figures than in the background ones. |
