Commentary | Copy from Bouttats' composition (Amberes: Verdussen, 1672 - 1673). Don Quixote remains hung by his hand when four travelers (servants of don Luis's father)arrive to the inn. The innkeeper appears to discover who is crying. Maritornes and the inkeeper's daughter should not still appear in the window.
This is one of the best plates of the set. The engraving is well detailed (Rocinante, don Quixote's armour, horses, clothes, faces...). |
