Er ward daher ausgezeichnet artig und wie ein grosser Herr im Pallaste empfangen, in einen praechtigen Saal geführt, und von sechs jungen, hübschen Maedchen seiner Waffen entledigt, ausgekleidet, und mit feiner Woesche und reichen Kleidern versehen, um sich seines Rufes gemäss umziechen zu können.

	Commentary	Coypel chose a great number of episodes about don Quixote and the Dukes because these allowed him theatrical, court and baroque compositions. This is one of those great and theatrical illustrations (with rich clothes, many figures, detailed baroque arquitectures, French gardens, curtains...), but the result is not too much accurate to Cervantes' text. Don Quixote was undressed by the Duchess' maidens, but he dressed himself alone, just with Sancho. The maiden who looks at the viewer and points to the scene is very remarkable. Carefully-drawn and engraved gestures (hands); these gestures establish relations between characters.
