Commentary | Don Quixote tries to punish Andrés, but the priest prevents him from doing it.
Andrés appears running away. Also Dorotea, Cardenio, Sancho and the barber (disguised with a fake beard) during their meal. Drawing and engraving are acceptable. |
Notes | 1 - The basic composition has been copied after Antonio Rodríguez' (Madrid: Imprenta Real, 1797); now, Andrés does not flees away towards the left background, but towards the left foreground; the group of the priest (stopping don Quixote), Sancho, the barber (still disguised and drinking) and Cardenio has been distributed with light changes. In 1797, Dorotea appears with her back turned on the viewer, now she looks at the viewer. |
