Commentary | Stothard proves to be a good painter; he creates a great composition with Basilio (center) surrounded by Quiteria, Camacho and the priest (forming a first semicircle), guests, Sancho and don Quixote (forming a second semicircle). Don Quixote and Sancho, over their mounts, are well-visible.
It seems as if Sancho was mocking towards the viewer. Illustration of quality; good drawing and engraving (see don Quixote's armour). |
