Commentary | The scene has been resolved with some confusing details; the shield and horse of the defeated knight are adorned with half-moons, what reminds the Knight of the White Moon (but this knight was not defeated by don Quixote; he defeated don Quixote; 64:2).
On the other hand, while don Quixote fights with the Knight of the Mirrors, Sancho remains on a tree, but here he appears aside. |
