Commentary | Well-known image of don Quixote taken back home "enchanted" into a cage on an ox-cart, led by a carter, escorted by officers of the Holy Brotherhood on horseback and followed by Sancho, Rocinante, the priest and the barber.
The barber points at a group approaching from the right background (canon of Toledo and his servants). Remarkable composition, figures and coloring; notice the use of watercolor for the clouds and shading effects. |
