Commentary | In the foreground, don Quixote is prepared to fight with a lion while the lionkeeper opens the gate of the cage.
In the background, Sancho and don Diego de Miranda are running away. This composition, with not many changes, will be used until the 20th century. Drawing and engraving are poor. |
