Commentary | Frontispiece based on don Quixote's Part II iconography (17:2).
Don Quixote, as Knight of the Lions (one lion appears beside him), holds a sword and a sun faced shield. Behind him, over a semicircle wall, Dulcinea, enchanted as an old peasant woman, and Sancho, as governor. Between them, a medallion with Merlin's portrait. Acceptable drawing and engraving. |
