| Commentary | Original choice; it is not the traditionally represented scene of don Quixote meeting the three peasant girls, but a previous moment.
Accurate to Cervantes' text, don Quixote "se quedó a caballo descansando sobre los estribos y sobre el arrimo de su lanza", while Sancho, who had gone to find Dulcinea, "vio que del Toboso hacia donde él estaba venían tres labradoras sobre tres pollinos" (10:2). Well represented narrative sense. Composition following a diagonal line: from the bottom left corner (don Quixote over a skinny Rocinante) through Sancho and the three peasant girls to the upper right corner (El Toboso). Remarkable burin engraving over etching; see delicate and fine engraving for the three peasant girsl. |
| Notes | It includes reference "P. 133". |
