Commentary | Well represented narration through gestures; accurate to Cervantes' text. Sancho insists on saying that Micomicona (Dorotea) is not a princess; don Quixote gets angry and "dio con el pie derecho una gran patada en el suelo" (46:1); Sancho is frightened and Dorotea tries to calm down don Quixote: "No os despechéis, señor Caballero de la Triste Figura, de las sandeces que vuestro buen escudero ha dicho" (46:1).
Remarkable setting; figures in the foreground, under the inn portal (theatrical composition); in the background, a detailed courtyard (well, drinkink trough...). Dorotea's dress designed by Alcántara (as a great cloak) is less rich than that designed by Paret. Good and detailed engraving. |
