| Commentary | Accurate to Cervantes' text: "Sancho llegó a su Rucio, y abrazándole, le dijo: cómo has estado, bien mío, Rucio de mis ojos, compañero mío? Y con esto le besaba y acariciaba como si fuera persona" (30:1).
Sancho and his donkey's figures a bit forced and his movement not too much natural, but the figures are well engraved. Sancho's figure is a bit stylized (he looks like a boy). Burin engraving over etching; short and firm lines (see trees). |
