Commentary Accurate to Cervantes' text; it is represented what Cardenio tells to the priest, the barber and Sancho Panza: "mi más común habitación es en el hueco de un alcornoque, capaz de cubrir este miserable cuerpo" (27:1).
Fine, firm and short burin lines, well used to create textures (over etching); light and good shading. Excellent drawing and engraving for a small headpiece.
Notes It includes reference "P. 34".

Francisco Alcántara (1764 - ¿?): Painter and illustration designer. He follows Luis Paret y Alcázar’s style, creating images of great elegance and charming. He worked in Madrid (Benezit I, 95; Lenaghan 247 – 256).
