Commentary | Accurate to Cervantes' text: "En esto alzó [Sancho] los ojos, y vio que su amo estaba parado, procurando con la punta del lanzón alzar no sé que bulto que estaba caído en el suelo, por lo cual se dio prisa a llegar a ayudarle" (23:1).
Well represented narrative sense. Light disproportion between Rocinante's head and body. Sancho's figure is different in this illustration to that in others of the same edition; his movement is forced and not too much natural. Highly detailed burin engraving over etching (see details: leaves, pleats...). |
