Commentary | First of five illustrations about El Curioso Impertinente tale.
Anselmo, hidden behing a door, listen to the conversation between Lotario and Camila (not represented). Usual in Houghton's scenes, the illustration causes a curiosity only satisfied by the text. Drawing and engraving are excellent; notice Anselmo's cloak. |
