Commentary | Beginning of the story of the braying mayors (regidors); one of the mayors finds the lost donkey in the forest, without packsaddle or harness of any sort (accurate to Cervantes' text).
The figures of the mayor and the donkey become secondary before nature, an almost sublime landscape in keeping with Romanticism taste. |
