Commentary | Doña Rodríguez visits don Quixote at night in his room begging for his help.
From the whole episode, a moment of restrained humour; neither doña Rodríguez nor don Quixote are extremely comical. Light and shadow effects are remarkable (from doña Rodríguez's candle); theatrical. In the banckground, a maiden, (Altisidora?), spies them from the door. Excellent engraving. |
