Commentary | Don Quixote puts on his head a basin barber (Mambrino's helmet) while Sancho observes him laughing; in the background, the barber flees away.
The most of the illustrations in this edition are resolved with a similar composition; not many characters in the foreground framed by a big tree. Good picturesque details; see Rocinante and the donkey. It reminds Coyple's illustration (Paris: Surugue, 1724). |
