Commentary | Two different scenes in the same illustration (archaic):
In the background: don Quixote's first sally on Rocinante at dawn. In the foreground: outside the inn, the innkeeper helps don Quixote to drink through his helmet using a cane; also in the scene the party girls (doña Tolosa and doña Molinera) and the swineherd blowing his horn. Drawing and engraving are simple and rough. |
