Commentary | Governor Sancho, accompanied by the secretary and others, judges between a woman and the man that she accuses of raping her (both fighting in the foreground).
Excellent composition in diagonal (from the accused man to Sancho). The engraver Grignion has got a very characteristic style; notice the well-marked drawing lines. Remarkable drawing and engraving; this is one of the best illustrations in this edition. |
Notes | 1 - Plate VI according to the order of publishing (April 13, 1782), not the chapter order.
2 - All the plates with the same Empire style frame; good decorative effect. |
