Commentary Don Quixote's song after being trampled by pigs: "Amor, cuando yo pienso / en el mal que me das, terrible y fuerte, / voy corriendo a la muerte" (68:2).
Doré has represented the characters in the very instant afer being trampled by pigs, but Sancho should appear sleeping when don Quixote begins his song.
The landscape of thistles (sketched by Doré in Spain) is very remarkable, but it is not accurate either; "Don Quijote, arrimado a un tronco de una haya o de un alcornoque" (68:2).

2 - Placed in chapter 66:2.
