Commentary | After singing a song for Altisidora (notice the lute, more like a guitar), don Quixote is attacked by cats (put into the room by the Duchess' maidens using a rope with bells).
The Duke and Duchess (and retinue) enter into the room and discover don Quixote fighting against the cats with his sword. Very poor drawing and rough engraving; deficient inking/printing; worn block. |
Notes | 1 – Same wooden block first used for Madrid: Manuel Martín, 1765 (copied after Madrid: Juan de San Martín, 1741).
2 – Copied after Madrid: Antonio Sanz, 1735. |
