Commentary | Sancho, don Quixote (over the donkey) and Rocinante arrive at the inn after the adventure of the "yangüeses".
Sancho's figure is influenced by Coypel's design. Drawing and engraving not very elaborate; some disproportions (Rocinante). The frame produces a great decorative effect. |
Notes | Accompanied by the poem:
"Bruis'd, & o'er Dapple laid, poor Sancho leads the batter'd Knight, who much assistance needs; While Rozinante walks in pain behind, But for his Master feels no pangs of Mind". |
