Commentary | Dulcinea and her damsels as described by Sancho to don Quixote: "verá venir a la princesa, nuestra ama, vestida y adornada, en fin, como quien ella es. Sus doncellas y ella [...] vienen a caballo sobre tres cananeas remendadas, que no hay más que ver" (10:2).
Dulcinea's figure has been drawn and engraved with great delicacy, but the whole scene suggests force. |
