Commentary In the foreground, don Quixote, Sancho, his donkey and Rocinante trying to stand up after having been trampled by pigs; "levantose Sancho como mejor pudo, y pidió a su amo la espada, diciéndole, que quería matar media docena de aquellos señores, y descomedidos puercos" (68:2).
In the background, the herd of pigs led by swineherds.
Simple drawing and clumsy engraving.
Notes 1 – Same wooden block first cut for Barcelona: Juan Jolis, 1755, copied after Madrid: Antonio Sanz, 1735, badly copied after Diego de Obregón’s illustration (Madrid: Andrés García de la Iglesia, 1674).
