Commentary Don Quixote, with a clemency gesture, orders the Knight of the Mirrors (Sansón Carrasco) to go and prostrate himself at the feet of Dulcinea.
His squire, Tomé Cecial (left), takes off his fake big nose to show don Quixote who they really are, amazing Sancho.
Perfectly-balanced composition.
Drawing and engraving are quite good; small size figures, but well-detailed and expressive.
Notes 1 - Despite de signature "A. Carnicero", this is a copy after Coypel's illustration (Paris: Surugue, c. 1728-30).
2 - Placed as frontispiece.
