Commentary | Don Quixote, knelt in the inn courtyard, is knighted by the innkeeper, who holds a book and raises a sword.
Also in the scene, the two party girls (doña Molinera and doña Tolosa; one holding a sash and the other a shield; not the spurs and sword traditionally represented) and a boy holding a candle. Well-known scene and composition. Drawing is poor. |
