Commentary | The background is divided in two parts: down, the dead shepherd, his friend Ambrosio, Vivaldo reading Grisóstomo's song and don Quixote; up, Marcela's appearance and speech.
Marcela's figure copies saint Gabriel's traditional image. In the foreground, several shepherds digging Grisóstomo's grave. The burin work is simple. |
