Commentary | The well-known adventure of the windmill now under Dali´s original surrealistic vision.
In the foreground, a figure of don Quixote whose empty head includes his own figure before a (kind of) windmill with bones as sails. Above, an errant knight on horseback attacking an oneiric figure (don Quixote imagined by himself attacking the giant; notice the arms/bones/sails like the ones of the windmills underneath). In the background, don Quixote and Rocinante hit by the windmill sail while Sancho gesticulates. Notice the details in don Quixote's neck: hybrid figures, monsters... Highly suggestive illustration. |
