Commentary | Don Quixote, trying to enter Montesinos' cave, is surprised by a flock of birds; also in the scene, holding the rope to which don Quixote is tied, Sancho and the bachelor's cousin.
Well-known scene since Savery (Dordrecht: Savery, 1657). Drawing and engraving are very remarkable; good and detailed illustration. |
Notes | 1 - Process reproduction of Pinelli's etching for Roma: R. Gentilucci, 1833-34.
2 - Wrongly-placed in chapter 31:2. |
