Commentary | In the foreground, don Quixote´s tomb in a Neoclassical style; behind, some cypresses.
The allegory of Folly (with a jester scepter) cries, while the allegory of Prudence (with a sword/arrow and a snake/remora) smiles because don Quixote has died sane. Beside the tomb, don Quixote's arms and Cide Hamete's manuscript. In the background, Rocinante, the donkey, and some windmills. Allegorical frontispiece of great interest. |
