Commentary | Scene totally invented by Barret, not in Cervantes' original text; Barret takes elements from different chapters to invent his own episode.
Sancho explains to don Quixote that he and his donkey had fallen into that pit (55:2) because after leaving Barataria Island he reunites with his donkey (53:2), they begin to fly through the skies, he encounters the seven goats (41:2) and one of the goats butts them out of the skies, landing hard and making a great hole in the earth. Good drawing style (quick and expressive sketching lines) and well-resolved figures. |
