Commentary | The illustration is not accurate to Cervantes' original text (don Quixote's bed collapses when the muleteer tramples the knight), but to Barret's adapted translation: don Quixote's bed collapses after his quarrel with Maritornes and, hearing the clatter, the innkeeper enters the room.
