Commentary | Well-known scene; Sancho is armed to defend Barataria Island; he appears tied between two shields (unable to walk) and surrounded by soldiers, some of them on horseback.
The figures of the soldiers are quite remarkable; excellent drawing and engraving; notice the night representation. The illustration shows the same fine humour that Cervantes' text. |
