Commentary | Don Quixote and Sancho discover the fulling mills; the setting is very accurate to Cervantes' description: "dieron en un pradecillo que al pie de unas altas peñas se hacía, de las cuales se precipitaba un grandísimo golpe de agua. Al pie de las peñas, estaban unas casas mal hechas, que más parecían ruinas de edificios que casas, de entre las cuales advirtieron que salía el ruido y estruendo de aquel golpear, que aún no cesaba" (20:1).
Also accurate to Cervantes' text, Sancho appears looking through Rocinante's legs. Drawing and engraving are excellent; notice the stream of water. |
