Commentary | Don Quixote brandishes his lance over Juan Haldudo's head, ordering him to take his lance and defend himself; notice that, "accurate" to Cervantes' text, there is another lance leaning against the oak to which Andrés is tied.
Doré's drawing style, firm and quick, has been perfectly reproduced by Pisan´s engraving; notice how landscape details are quickly sketched. |
