Commentary After having defeated the Basque (fallen in the background with two Basque ladies), don Quixote is asked by Sancho for the government of his island; the knight tells Sancho that he must wait (see don Quixote's hand).
Don Quixote and Sancho's figures are well-detailed drawn and engraved; their gestures and faces are very remarkable. 
Notes 1 – Plate newly engraved in a reduced size by Van der Gucht after his own plate with Vanderbank’s design first engraved for London: Tonson, 1738; in 1738 there were three Basque ladies.
