Commentary In the center: Quiteria and Basilio, who pretends to have stabbed himself; both well-lighted.
On the right, Camacho ready to draw his sword.
From the left, don Quixote goes to stop him, while Sancho stays protecting his food.
Also a priest and several women.
Theatrical composition.
Drawing and engraving are excellent.
Notes 1 - Although Picart has signed as "del. et sculp." (draw and engraved), this is a copy after Coypel's illustration (Paris: Surugue, c. 1724).
2 - The composition has been turned and the format now is vertical, so Picart has enlarged the trees.
3 - Picart died in 1733, so the plate was engraved in this year or before.
