Commentary | Don Quixote stays still ready to fight against a lion, but the animal remains into its cage although it is open.
Well-known scene, but good illustration. One of the few illustrations with a realistic representation of a lion. Notice the use of intense light and desertic landscape, usual in Scholz' illustrations; quite near to La Mancha landscape. |
