| Commentary | In Sierra Morena, Sancho helps don Quixote to put on his armour; also in the scene, princess Micomicona (Dorotea) and the barber with a fake beard (ox tail).
Original choice, not the well-known moment when Micomicona kneels before don Quixote. Vierge's style is absolutely masterly; his figures are detailed and real; notice Micomicona's worth noting figure. Notice also the perfect use of light and shadow, halftones and shading. His short and fine drawing lines imitate etching. |
