Commentary In order to disenchant Altisidora, several dueñas have to pinch Sancho, who "asiendo un hacha encendida, que junto a él estaba, dio tras las Dueñas" (69:2).
This scene was first represented by Bouttats (Amberes: Verdussen, 1672 - 1673); Vanderbank has divided it in three different illustrations.
Same setting and characters than in previous illustration (Minos, Rhadamanthus, the Duke, Duchess, don Quixote and servants).
Drawing and engraving are excellent.
Notes 1 - Same plate used for London: Tonson, 1738.
2 - Second of three illustrations about the same episode.
