Commentary | ".... till the compassionate knight, raising her from the ground...".
Doña Rodríguez, in mourning, knelt before don Quixote; also in the scene, doña Rodríguez' daughter (in mourning too; very remarkable figure), the Duke, the Duchess and several pages. Remarkable figures, with good gestures and expressions, and detailed setting. García Ramos’ drawing keeps the realistic/picturesque style used by José and Luis Jiménez Aranda for the first part. Notice some masterly details, like the shading of the Duchess' dress. |
