Commentary | ".... and disclosed countenances all bristling with beards,...".
Countess Trifaldi and the other dueñas showing their beards to don Quixote, Sancho, the Duke and the Duchess; also in the scene Trifaldín (white bearded). Good figures, but the scene results theatrical. Cabrera's drawing tries to keep the realistic/picturesque style used by José and Luis Jiménez Aranda for the first part. |
