Commentary | "... and persuaded that it was so, Sancho wept bitterly...".
Sancho and the bachelor's cousin, holding a rope, by the entry of Montesinos' cave; Sancho weeps believing that don Quixote has got lost inside the cave. Original choice, not the well-known moment when don Quixote enters the cave or descends into it. The entry of the cave has not been resolved quite well. Both figures are very remarkable. Cabrera's drawing tries to keep the realistic/picturesque style used by José and Luis Jiménez Aranda for the first part. |
