Commentary | ".... and took away Dapple from under me without my feeling it".
Sancho explains to Sansón Carrasco how Ginés de Pasamonte stole his donkey in Sierra Morena; Ginés de Pasamonte left Sancho sleeping on his saddle on four stakes; also don Quixote sleeps. Bilbao's drawing tries to keep the realistic/picturesque style used by José and Luis Jiménez Aranda for the first part, but now the figures are lightly more unfinished. Notice the white and black contrasts, very remarkable plastic effect. |
