Don Fernando and his companions, don Luis and his servants, the innkeeper and others (all disguised as enchanters) put don Quixote "enchanted" into a cage and take him out of the inn; Sancho observes the scene astohished. Remarkable figures. Great interest in representing real Spanish characters and accurate period clothes, setting and details. Realistic/picturesque style with good light and shadow effects. |
| Notes | 1 – After José Jiménez Aranda’s death, his brother, Luis Jiménez Aranda, continued illustrating Don Quixote (part I) following a very similar realistic/picturesque style as the one used by his brother, but, sometimes, his figures lack naturalism. |
