	Commentary	".... when Sancho Panza burst forth in wild excitement,...". Sancho bursts into the room where the priest, the barber, Dorotea, Cardenio and the innkeeper were reading the tale of "El Curioso Impertinente". Remarkable figures, with good variety of gestures; notice Sancho's expression. Great interest in representing real Spanish characters and accurate period clothes, setting and details. Jiménez Aranda's drawing skill is masterly; remarkable use of light and shadow with impressionist effects.
	Notes	1 – Reproduction of the original sketch (Chinese ink and gouache white). Jiménez Aranda meant to paint a more-finished drawing after this sketch using natural sceneries and real models, but he died before completing the project. 2 - "Movidas y llenas de expresión son las 17 composiciones en que describe la aventura de los cueros de vino tinto. En ellas resaltan las figuras del ventero desesperado, la curiosidad y el ansia con que todos se precipitan al aposento; la acometida del ventero á Don Quijote la sandez de Sancho cuando busca la cabeza del gigante" (José Ramón Mélida: “Don José Jiménez Aranda y su "Quijote"", vol.
